New Siem Reap Airport Handles 42 Flights per Day

SIEM REAP: Civil Aviation spokesperson Sin ChanSerey Vutha said that the number of flights at Siem Reap Angkor Airport has increased to 42 flights per day, while the average number of visitors increased between 2,000 to 3,000 per day.

On November 6, the spokesperson said that most of the flights were from ASEAN and China, with ASEAN guests accounting for 75% and European guests accounting for 25%, showing moderate growth.

The Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport has been in business for 20 days, having officially opened on October 16. The airport is 40 km from Angkor Wat and 51 km from Siem Reap. It has 38 terminals and is able to handle seven million passengers and 65,800 flights per year and transport 10,000 tons of air cargo, which it aims to double by 2040.
